Salmon Kings Sign Brady Leavold

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that they have signed forward Brady Leavold for the remainder of the 2009-10 season.

The Port Coquitlam, BC native will rejoin the Salmon Kings after starting the year with the Tilburg Trappers in Holland. While in Tilburg he participated in two games and notched one goal.

Leavold spent the 2008-09 campaign in Victoria playing 31 games and scoring 14 points (10g-4a) with 49 minutes in penalties. Leavold also participated in seven Kelly Cup Playoff games this past spring registering one goal and three assists for four points while notching eight penalty minutes.

The 5-11, 190 lb. forward was under AHL contract with the Norfolk Admirals last season, and began the campaign there registering two minutes in penalties in four games before being assigned to Victoria for the remainder of the season.

The 21-year-old Leavold began his professional career with the Salmon Kings in 2007-08 where he dressed for three games while tallying two goals and two penalty minutes.

For his professional career Leavold has played in 38 games scoring 13 goals and adding four assists for 17 points while serving 53 minutes in penalties.

Leavold finished a five-year junior hockey career in the Western Hockey League (split between the Kelowna Rockets and Swift Current Broncos) where he played in 200 games scoring 120 points (47g-73a) and accrued 390 minutes in penalties. In 13 career WHL playoff games he gathered seven goals and assisted on three others for 10 points.

The forward also spent part of the 2005-06 season with the Burnaby Express (BCHL) playing in 24 games and scoring seven goals with 15 assists for 22 points.

Victoria returns to the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre to play the Las Vegas Wranglers for a three-game set with contests on Thursday, December 10th, Friday, December 11th, and Saturday, December 12th.
