The Avalanche made it six wins in their last seven games with a 9-1 win over Frederick on Monday evening in Salem.
Halfway through their stretch of 15 of 18 games on the road, Salem has a record of 6-3.
Avalanche starter Ronnie Martinez picked up his first Carolina League win, and Robert Stiehl pitched two perfect innings for his first save of the year.
Salem led early and blew the game open with five runs in the eighth inning.
Salem RF Francisco Caraballo was 3-for-4 with a home run and 3 RBI and C Lou Santangelo hit his sixth home run of the year in the rout.
