
Saints Take Another Game From The Birds

(St. PAUL, MN) â The Canaries struck first Friday night with one run in the second but would allow their lead and the game to slip away as the Saints mounted a come-from-behind victory, 6-2.
A 2-0 lead that took the Canaries four innings to build with one run in the second and one in the fourth, all disappeared in the bottom of the fifth inning when Justin Hall hit his seventh home run of the season scoring Chas Terni and Josh Renick for the 3-2 lead.
Sioux Falls was unable to plate anymore runs but Cory Walters (2-3) would allow three more runs on two more home runs, one by Nick Grenz and one by former Canary, Jacob Wallis.
Walters pitched 6.2 innings in the losing effort allowing all six runs on eleven hits only walking one and striking out two.
With the loss the Canaries dropped their fifth game this season to the Saints and fall to 13-27 while the Saints, behind Tim Tisch (2-0) who allowed both Canary runs during his 5.2 innings of service, improved to 25-14.
Sioux Falls will be in St. Paul again on Saturday for game three of this four-game series against the Saints. The Canaries will send RHP Mike Lyons (2-3, 7.50) to the mound in search for their first win against the Saints this season. Lyons will face RHP Mike Meyer (4-2, 5.83) of St. Paul.
