Saint John Pro Sports, Calgary Flames Granted Extension for Negotiations

SAINT JOHN, NB -The Saint John Flames Hockey Club announced today that the American Hockey League's Board of Governors has granted the Club an extension to the deadline to declare its' status for the 2003-04 season until April 29, 2003.

"Saint John Pro Sports Inc. will take advantage of this extension, and continue in its negotiations with the Calgary Flames in an effort to reach an agreement that maintains professional hockey in Saint John," stated Flames President Nick Georgoudis.

A further announcement will be made once a final decision is reached.

The 2002-03 season marks the Saint John Flames' tenth as a member of the American Hockey League and as the primary development organization of the National Hockey League's Calgary Flames.
