
Checkers End Season One Point Shy of Playoff Berth

Charlotte Checkers News Release
Checkers went 1-2-0 last week.
The Checkers missed the playoffs by one point despite the following:
1.) Finishing 13 games over .500 at 41-28-3.
2.) Finishing tied for fourth in the Northern Conference with 41 wins.
3.) Going 34-16-2 in last 51 games â (.686 winning percentage)
4.) Going 14-4-2 in last 19 games.
· Center David Evans had his goal scoring streak snapped at six in Saturday's 6-3 loss at Richmond (eight goals). He ended the season with a seven-game point scoring streak going 7-2-9 in that span.
· Wingers Kevin Caulfield and Dusty Jamieson were loaned to the Hartford Wolf Pack after the Checkers were eliminated from the playoffs.
· The Checkers finished the season 7-0 in shootouts.
· Defenseman Chad Wilchynski finished the season with a team-high + 31.
· Winger Doug Christiansen ended the season with a six-game point scoring streak at 3-6-9.
