Hickory, NC- The Crawdads' 7 game winning streak was snapped on Wednesday night as they fell to the Winston-Salem Dash 9-2.
Winston-Salem scored a run in the first and added one in the third and another in the fourth to pull ahead 3-0. Ricky Vanasco wrapped up his start after the fifth inning, allowing the three earned runs while striking out nine and walking none.
Thomas Saggese homered in the fifth to put the 'Dads on the board.
The game remained 3-1 until the ninth inning when the Dash got six runs across in the ninth.
The Crawdads managed a run in the ninth as Cody Freeman singled and Cristian Inoa doubled him in.
The series will continue tomorrow with an 11am game. It will be an Education Day presented by Dippin' Dots and a Senior Day, brought to you by OrthoCarolina.
