
Sacrifice Fly wins it for Fightin Phils

Gabriel Lino hit a go-ahead sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth to give the Fightin Phils (26-22) a 4-3 lead an eventual win to defeat the Flying Squirrels (22-24). Aaron Nola didn't receive a decision despite allowing just one run in seven innings with seven strikeouts.
The Flying Squirrels took a lead first for the second straight night as Mac Williamson hit a RBI triple off Nola to take a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning. The Fightin Phils answered back off Flying Squirrels starter Jack Snodgrass as Cameron Perkins hit a solo home run and Roman Quinn hit a RBI single to give Reading a 2-1 lead. Aaron Nola also registered his first hit of the season, a single.
Nola cruised through seven innings as he allowed one run off five hits with seven strikeouts in seven innings pitched. J.P. Crawford extended the lead for Reading in his debut, as he hit a two-out RBI single to score Roman Quinn and give the Fightin Phils a 3-1 lead. Nefi Ogando entered the game in the top of the eighth inning and allowed a game-tying two-run double to Devin Harris to see the score at 3-3.
Gabriel Lino hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth inning to give the Fightin Phils a 4-3 lead. Stephen Shackleford earned his ninth save of the season as he pitched a scoreless top of the ninth inning.
Crawford went 1 for 4 on the night with a RBI and committed an error in his Fightin Phils debut.
The Fightin Phils will be back at it on Sunday afternoon against the Richmond Flying Squirrels. First pitch is at 1:35 pm. Fans can listen to the game on CBS Sports Radio 1240 AM/98-5 FM and fightins.com beginning at 1:05 pm.
