Offense Stays Hot in 8-1 Win

The Thunder offense continued their hot streak in a 8-1 victory over the Portland Sea Dogs in front of 6,827 fans on Saturday night at ARM & HAMMER Park.

In the bottom of the second the Thunder broke through for four unearned runs against the against Mike Augliera capped off by a run-scoring single from Ali Castillo. Castillo, who finished the game 3-for-4 with a walk, a run scored, a stolen base and a run driven, is batting .386 in his last 14 games.

The offense in the second inning was all the support that Eric Ruth needed. Ruth turned in his fourth straight quality start with seven innings of one-run ball on Saturday night. In that stretch, Ruth is 2-2 with a 1.09 ERA (4 ER in 26 IP).

Aaron Judge turned a 4-0 lead into a 6-0 advantage with his eighth home run of the season in the bottom of the fourth. In the seventh, Danny Oh brought home two more runs with an infield single to complete the scoring.

Gary Sanchez added two more hits and is batting .308 since starting the season 3-for-28. Jose Rosario also recorded a multi-hit game and is batting .419 (13-for-31) over his last eight games.

Your Thunder will complete their three-game homestand with the Sea Dogs on Sunday afternoon at 1:00pm. The Thunder will send RHP Brady Lail (2-2, 2.88), the Sea Dogs will send RHP Joe Gunkel (2-0, 4.05). Sunday afternoon will give the first 1,000 fans, age 5-15, Drawstring Bags, courtesy of Black Bear Franks. After the game, Kids Run the Bases, presented by TD Bank.
