Sacramento Republic FC to Face Real Salt Lake in Friendly

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (August 1, 2014) - Sacramento Republic FC will play a friendly match versus MLS club, Real Salt Lake at Rio Tinto Stadium in Salt Lake City, Utah on September 30 at 7:30 p.m. MT.

Tickets to the friendly match will go on sale to the general public Monday, August 4. Tickets are available at the Rio Tinto Stadium box office, online at www.RealSaltLake.com/Tickets or by calling (801) 727-2700.

The matchup marks the first-ever meeting between Sacramento Republic FC and Real Salt Lake. Real Salt Lake is currently second in the MLS Western Conference; five points behind the MLS leading Seattle Sounders FC. The match will be the first friendly match of the season for Real Salt Lake against a USL PRO club. The Real Salt Lake Reserves have played two USL PRO clubs this season - Richmond Kickers to a scoreless draw in Richmond on July 6 and falling 5-2 to the Pittsburgh Riverhounds at Rio Tinto Stadium on July 25.

The match will provide an opportunity for Republic FC forward Justin Braun to play in his hometown. Braun appeared in two matches for Real Salt Lake kit during the 2012 season. This will be the second time that Braun will face Real Salt Lake since leaving there in 2013.

Republic FC will continue their USL PRO season on Saturday, August 2 in Peoria, Ariz. where they take on Arizona United SC. The match will be streamed live at SacRepublicFC.com/matchday. Updates will also be provided via Twitter @SacRepublicFC or using #AZUvSRFC.
