WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Kirk Saarloos earned his fourth victory over Portland this season, Landon Powell hit his 10th homer and drove in four runs and the Sacramento River Cats racked up 15 hits in a 9-3 victory over the Beavers Tuesday night at Raley Field.

Richie Robnett homered and drove in three runs and Wes Bankston was 3-for-5 with two RBIs for the River Cats, who have won five of their last six games.

Saarloos (7-3) improved to 4-0 in four starts against the Beavers (42-41) this season by limiting them to four hits, two runs and three walks across six innings.

Robnett's two-run homer gave the River Cats (51-34) the lead in the second and Powell, who also walked twice and scored two runs, hit a three-run blast that highlighted a four-run third, spreading the lead to 6-0.

With regularly scheduled starter Clay Hensley recalled by San Diego earlier in the day, Enrique Gonzalez (3-4) made a spot start for the Beavers. The right-hander, making his ninth start of the season, allowed six runs and eight hits - including two home runs - over three innings in the loss.

Brian Myrow was 2-for-3 with an RBI, a walk and a run scored to lead the Beavers, who have lost three in a row for the first time since early June.

Will Venable hit a run-scoring double and Myrow scored on Justin Huber's RBI groundout for the Beavers in the fourth, but Bankston logged two-out RBI singles in the fourth and sixth innings to help the River Cats open up a 9-2 lead.

Myrow added an eighth-inning RBI single from the Beavers, who will take on the River Cats again Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m.

NOTES: By recalling Hensley on Tuesday, the Padres optioned infielder Craig Stansberry to Portland ... reliever Justin Hampson made his season debut for the Beavers ... Cliff Pennington fouled off seven straight pitches from Hampson in the seventh before doubling in a 12-pitch at-bat ... Portland is 4-10 against Sacramento this season.
