WILSON, N.C. (June 28, 2011) - Wilson Tobs center fielder Ryan Mathews (North Carolina State) was named a Rawlings Co-Hitter of the Week for the week of June 21 - 27 the Coastal Plain League announced today.
Mathews, a redshirt-junior from N.C. State, led the league in just about every offensive category on the week. Batting .423 through seven starts for the Tobs, Mathews had 11 hits (second-best mark on the week) with league highs in doubles (3), home runs (4), RBIs (9), runs scored (9), total bases (26) and slugging percentage (1.000). Furthermore, he had a .467 on-base percentage to go with three walks and three stolen bases.
