Trenton Devils News Release

TRENTON, N.J. - Ryan Garlock scored a pair of third-period goals for the Johnstown Chiefs, handing the Trenton Devils a tough 2-1 loss at home on opening night.

Garlock tied the game at one when he shot a rebound off of a Ray Macias shot from the boards past Devils goaltender Jeff Frazee with 7:54 remaining in regulation.

The game-winner came two and a half minutes later on the power play for Johnstown when Garlock banged home another rebound from in front of the net, this time from a Randy Rowe shot.

Trenton's only goal of the game came with the man advantage with 4:10 remaining in the second period, as Chris Poli's rebound from a Dylan Quaile slap shot gave the Devils their only lead of the game. The Devils went 1-for-8 on the power play in the game.

Despite Frazee's best efforts in his T-Devils debut by making 23 saves, he was out-dueled by Chiefs goaltender Ian Keserich, who made 24 stops to ensure Johnstown the win.

The Trenton Devils continue their opening weekend home slate Saturday night against their rivals, the Reading Royals. The puck drops at 7:00 p.m. Fans can listen or watch the broadcast on www.trentondevils.com, courtesy of B2 Networks.
