
Ryan Ellis Named the Windsor Spitfires and University of Windsor's Academic Player of the Month

(Windsor) Prior to commencement of last night's Spitfire home game, Windsor Spitfires defenceman Ryan Ellis was recognized as the Windsor Spitfires and University of Windsor's Academic Player of the Month for February as part of a special on-ice presentation.
Ellis, a grade 12 student at St. Anne's High School in Lakeshore, ON is enrolled in three courses and is currently carrying an A-average in all three which includes English, Sociology and Sports Management.
Last season, he received the Bobby Smith Trophy OHL Scholastic Player of the Year award for his outstanding academic performance as a grade 11 student at St. Anne's High School.
For his achievement, Ellis received special gifts from John Laporte and Dennis Gignac, Spitfire Academic Advisors as well as from Windsor Lancers Men's Hockey Head Coach Kevin Hamlin. He was also named to the Windsor Spitfires and University of Windsor Lancers' Academic All-Star Team.
