
Rangers Claim 5-2 Victory Over Spitfires in Final 08-09 Home Game

The Kitchener Rangers Jason Akeson scored the game winning goal early in the second period to lead the team to a 5-2 victory over the Windsor Spitfires.
The Rangers and Spitfires exchanged goals in the first period to head into the second with a 1-1 tie. Eric Wellwood opened up the scoring at the 12:35 mark with his 16th goal of the season. Tyler Randell redirected a shot by Chris MacKinnon at the 17:20 mark to level out the score.
James Woodcroft put Windsor up 2-1 after netting his first goal of the year at the 4:23 mark. The Rangers Jeff Skinner returned it to a tie game at the 5:37 mark. Jason Akeson scored his 20th on the season at the 6:22 mark to give the Rangers their first lead of the game.
T.J. Battani scored the only two goals in the third period to finish the game 5-2 Rangers.
The Rangers travel to Erie tomorrow for their final game of the 2008-09 season. Game time is 7:00pm.
