
Rush to Host National Anthem Contest

(Rapid City, SD) - The Rapid City Rush would like to invite all singers and performers to audition to sing the National Anthem at a Rush game this season. Auditions will be held Monday, September 14th , at 6:30 PM in the Civic Center Ice Arena.
Participants should come prepared to sing the Star Spangled Banner without musical accompaniment and also have the lyrics memorized. All ages, individuals, groups, and instrumentalists (within reason) are invited to perform. Applicants will be judged by local celebrity panel and may be selected to perform at more than one Rush home game. There are a total of 34 open slots available for this season's National Anthem performances.
"This year we are looking for the best of the best in the Black Hills," said Director of Game Operations, John Hess. "The talent is so diverse I expect this year's anthem auditions to be outstanding, the competition is going to be tough. We are excited to see what Rapid City has to offer," said Hess.
Applications are available online at www.RapidCityRush.com. To speed up the audition process, performers are asked to fill out an application prior to attending and bring it with them to the audition.
