Jacks Host Events, Partner with Ronald McDonald House

(Odessa, TX) - In less than a week, the Odessa Jackalopes hosted a pair of "Chamber After Hours" events to support two Chambers of Commerce here in the Permian Basin, and the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Southwest.
Last Thursday, the team held an after hours event at the Clarion Hotel in Midland for the local members of the Midland Chamber of Commerce. Then on Tuesday the Jackalopes opened up the Falcon International Center Ice Club at the Ector County Coliseum for a similar event with the Odessa Chamber of Commerce.
At each event local business owners and community leaders were treated to food, beverage, plus the opportunity to socialize and create business contacts. The Jackalopes also made a presentation at each event to promote their upcoming season, which starts on October 16th against the Corpus Christi IceRays.
"Both events were a fantastic success," said Jackalopes General Manager Joe Clark. "They were well attended, people seemed to really enjoy themselves, we had the opportunity to excite people about the upcoming season, and the Ronald McDonald House put on a great presentation."
The biggest highlight of the events might have been the Jackalopes partnering with the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Southwest and the debut of their new Ronald McDonald Care Mobile. The Care Mobile serves as a traveling medical center for people looking for medical attention. It's capable of conducting routine exams, administering shots, writing up prescriptions, and more.
"Hosting these events is a natural for us," added Jackalopes Asst. General Manager Bill Levy. "Whether someone in the Permian Basin has a business, is involved with a non-profit organization, a civic club, or just wants to be entertained, we need to let the community know we can help achieve their goals."
The Jackalopes and Ronald McDonald House will also partner up later in the season to raise money for the charity.
The Odessa Jackalopes are the Central Hockey League affiliate for the NHL's New York Islanders and the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers. The team will begin its 13th season in October.
