Rush Complete Road Trip with 2-1 Loss to Brahmas

(North Richland Hills, TX) - One night after posting six goals, including the fifth straight game with a powerplay goal, the Rapid City Rush offense sputtered in a 2-1 loss to the Texas Brahmas. The Rush were credited with a franchise-low thirteen shots in Saturday night's loss at the NYTEX Sports Center. Rapid City finishes the road trip 2-2-0 and the Rush now return home for a pair of games against the Arizona Sundogs on December 21st and 22nd. The contest began with the Rush being outshot 9-4 in the opening period, and eventually down 1-0 after 20 minutes. The lone goal came at 16:14 on a shot deflection from the right circle by T.J. Fox, earning the forward his fifth goal of the season.

Rapid City bounced back early in the second period with the ninth goal of the season from Les Reaney just 1:31 in. Jesse Schultz backhanded a pass to center ice where Reaney skated over the blueline and rifled a wrist shot to the top-right corner for the only goal of the period.

The final stanza provided another early goal, this time from the Brahmas who took a 2-1 lead at the 2:09 mark. Brahmas center Brendon Hodge accepted an errant Rush pass in the low slot and made a move to the backhand, beating goaltender Tim Boron for the eventual game-winner.
