Fort Worth Brahmas News Release

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (December 18) - The Brahmas came back from a 3-1 second-period deficit on Sunday, but were unable to get a win against Wichita as Thomas Beauregard cashed in on a powerplay in overtime to give the Thunder the 4-3 victory.

Alex Bourret started off the scoring for the night with a first period goal. For Bourret, it was his third goal in as many games against the Brahmas this season. The Brahmas answered at the 18:21 mark with a goal from Chad Woollard to head into the fisrt intermission tied at one.

In an action-packed second period, the Thunder got out in front 3-1 behind goals from Beauregard and the recently-signed R.G. Flath. But the Brahmas answered with two goals of their own - one from Ross Rouleau and the other from T.J. Fox on a powerplay. Fox's score was the first powerplay goal Texas has scored since December 6.

After a scoreless third period, the game went into overtime. With 37 seconds left in the extra frame, Rouleau was sent to the box for slashing and an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, and the Thunder took advantage. With only nine seconds left, Thomas Beauregard scored the game-winner, his second goal of the night.

The Brahmas hit the road to take on the Fort Worth Komets, Dayton Gems and Evansville Icemen on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, respectively, before returning home to North Richland Hills to face off against the Laredo Bucks on Wedneday, December 28 at 7:00pm at the NYTEX Sports Centre.
