Winnipeg Goldeyes News Release
The American Association has named Winnipeg Goldeyes right-handed pitcher Matt Rusch the league's Pointstreak Pitcher of the Week, for the week ending August 25, 2013.
Rusch, 30, went 2-0 with a 1.13 ERA in two starts last week, including a complete-game 7-0 shutout of the St. Paul Saints on Wednesday. He's the first member of the Goldeyes to receive a pitcher or batter of the week nod this season.
On the season, Rusch is 7-4 with a 3.97 ERA in 21 starts, which is one start away from tying the franchise record for most starts in a season.
The Goldeyes begin a seven-game homestand tomorrow night with the first of four games against the St. Paul Saints. It is Winnipeg's final homestand of the season.
Tickets for all Goldeyes games can be purchased through Ticketmaster by calling 1-855-GOLDEYE, clicking on Ticketmaster.ca or visiting any Ticketmaster location, including the Shaw Park box office.
