RAIN FORCES TWIN BILL OPENER: Tuesday's series-opener between Binghamton and Akron was postponed due to rain. The squads meet for a pair on Wednesday, the Rumble Ponies 11th doubleheader of the season. It'll serve as Binghamton's third twin bill in the last 16 days.

LAST GAME RECAP: Binghamton was swept by Reading on Sunday evening, falling 8-5 to the Fightin Phils. The Rumble Ponies scored four first-inning runs, but scored just once more in the series finale. Kevin McGowan allowed three home runs over five innings, suffering his third loss of the season.

BINGHAMTON STARTER: LHP Matt Gage prepares for his second start as a Rumble Pony after a dramatic debut in Richmond. Against his former club, the southpaw tossed six scoreless innings and picked up the win. Wednesday marks Gage's sixth Eastern League start of 2018 - he made four with Richmond (0-2, 3.18).

RECHARGE: Andres Gimenez did not play on Sunday - his hitting streak remains at eight games. Since August 2, the 19-year-old is hitting .387 (12-for-31) with five doubles, 3 RBI, and a stolen base.

TERDOSLA-HITS: Joey Terdoslavich finished 3-for-5 with a HR and 2 RBI on Sunday. He's racked in eight multi-hit games over the last 12 contests and starts the series hitting above .300 for the first time this season (.302).

POWER SURGE: The Rumble Ponies received home runs from Joey Terdoslavich and Patrick Mazeika on Sunday, Binghamton's first multi-home run effort since July 16. The Binghamton bats bashed just five home runs over the 24-game stretch.

TRIPLE THREAT: Binghamton pitching allowed three home runs on Sunday for the first time since July 5 in a loss to Erie.

BROOM COUNTY: Binghamton suffered their first series sweep since they dropped all four to the RubberDucks July 12-15.

PONY PITCHING: Rumble Ponies pitching has posted a 2.75 ERA in August, second-best in the Eastern League (Hartford - 2.69)

CLOSE CALLS: Binghamton has played in 14 straight games decided by five runs or fewer. Seven of the 14 contests were decided by just one run.

AGAINST AKRON: Binghamton has beaten Akron just once in 10 tries this season. The RubberDucks have completed sweeps at NYSEG Stadium (three games) and at Canal Park (four games).
