TODAY: The Binghamton Rumble Ponies play the final game before the all-star break and close out their series with the Akron RubberDucks. The Ponies are looking to take three out of four from the RubberDucks.

LAST TIME OUT: The Rumble Ponies defeated the RubberDucks 7-6 Saturday night. David Thompson went 4-4 with three RBI. Binghamton scored four runs in the first. The Ponies expanded the lead to 6-0 after five, but the RubberDucks got back into the game with five runs in the sixth. Ponies righty Harol Gonzalez picked up his first win since May 8.

THOMPSON'S FOUR-HIT NIGHT: David Thompson went 4-4 Saturday night. It was his first four-hit game of the season. Prior to last night, Thompson already had three three-hit games since joining the team on June 1. Yesterday also marked his first 3-RBI night with Binghamton in 2019.

AKRON'S POWER PUNCH: Trenton Brooks and Nellie Rodriguez have driven in nine of the RubberDucks' 11 runs the last two nights. They hit back-to-back homers, which accounted for all five of their runs on Friday. Rodriguez drove in three runs on two hits Saturday night.

PONIES HEAD TO ALL-STAR BREAK: The Rumble Ponies are looking to head into the break over .500 for the season. Since the records reset on June 19, Binghamton is 7-13.

LEE MAKES FIRST RUMBLE PONIES START: RHP Zach Lee makes his first start with Binghamton this afternoon. The 27-year-old has pitched in 15 games for Syracuse (AAA) this season. He is 4-2 with a 6.66 ERA over 71.2 innings. This is his first season in the Mets organization. He made one start with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2015 as well as one start and two relief appearances with the San Diego Padres in 2017.

298 - THE GOING RATE: Ali Sanchez and Akron's Ernie Clement are both hitting .298 on the season. They are tied for third in the Eastern League in batting average with Hunter Owen from Altoona.

BINGHAMTON'S HOMERS: Andres Gimenez hit a three-run home run in the first Saturday night, and Braxton Lee belted a solo homer in the fourth. It was Lee's second HR of 2019, and Gimenez now has four.

FIVE PONIES HEADING TO ASG: Five members of the Rumble Ponies have been selected to this year's Eastern League all-star game. They are RHP Harol Gonzalez, second basemen Sam Haggerty, outfielder Braxton Lee, catcher/first basemen Patrick Mazeika, and RHP Adonis Uceta.

COMING UP: The Ponies will be off the next three days for the All-Star Game and return to action Thursday when they start a five-game series in Portland.
