TONIGHT: The Binghamton Rumble Ponies begin the final series of the season as they open a four-game set with the Hartford Yard Goats.

LAST TIME OUT: The Rumble Ponies fell to the Portland Sea Dogs 4-0 Thursday to drop four of five. The Ponies were limited to three hits. The Sea Dogs scored three runs in the first inning. Jarren Duran led the game off with a single up the middle. He came around to score on a Tommy Joseph RBI single off Tylor Megill. Joey Curletta followed with an extra base-hit, and Charlie Madden made it 3-0 with a two-out, two-run double. Megill suffered the loss as he allowed three runs on five hits over five innings. Konner Wade picked up the win, giving up two hits over seven innings.

MEGILL FANS NINE IN DEBUT: Making his first start at Double-A, righty Tylor Megill struck out nine over five innings. It was one shy of his career-high, when he rang up 10 Fort Myers batters earlier this month with St. Lucie. He retired 13 of the last 14 batters he faced, allowing just an infield hit.

SEVEN HEAD TO ARIZONA FALL LEAGUE: Seven players have been selected to represent the Mets' organization in the Arizona Fall League. All seven either are current members of the Rumble Ponies or have played for the Ponies in 2019. They are: Luis Carpio, Ryley Gilliam, Andres Gimenez, Patrick Mazeika, David Peterson, Ali Sanchez and Thomas Szapucki.

FINAL SERIES OF 2019: The Rumble Ponies are beginning the final series of the season. Binghamton has dropped eight of its last nine series. In that stretch they split a four-game set at New Hampshire. The Ponies' last series win was July 25-28, when they took three of four from Bowie.

GOATS OWN SEASON SERIES: The Yard Goats have won seven of the first nine meetings between the two teams. Hartford took two out of three in each of the two series at Dunkin' Donuts Park and swept a three-game set in Binghamton two weeks ago.

WHITEHOUSE FACES PONIES IN DIFFERENT UNIFORM: Matt Whitehouse is making his fourth appearance against Binghamton this season. He was with the Akron RubberDucks earlier in the year and made two relief appearances against the Ponies. He was then signed by the Rockies organization in June. He appeared in relief vs. Binghamton on August 11. Tonight will be his first start against the Ponies and eighth overall this year.

JONES' BIG DAY IN BINGHAMTON: In the Yard Goats' last game at NYSEG Stadium on August 18, Mylz Jones tallied a career-high six RBI. He went 3-4 and had a three-run home run, a two-run double and an RBI single in Hartford's 8-1 win.

COMING UP: The Ponies and Yard Goats continue their four-game series Saturday at 6:35 PM.
