Binghamton, New York - The Binghamton Rumble Ponies (19-30) defeated the Somerset Patriots (31-18) in ten innings by a score of 3-2 at Mirabito Stadium on Saturday evening.
The Patriots jumped out in front on an Anthony Volpe (6) leadoff home run on the third pitch of the game.
Max Burt's (4) solo shot in the fifth doubled the lead for Somerset.
Carlos Cortes cut the lead in half with an RBI groundout in the sixth before a Zach Ashford RBI single tied up the game in the next inning.
In the tenth, Francisco Alvarez hit a sacrifice fly to plate Ashford as the winning run.
Yeizo Campos (4-1) struck out three in a scoreless inning for the win. Steven Jennings (0-2) suffered the loss, allowing an unearned run in 0.2 innings.
Mitch Spence allowed a run in six innings and struck out six in a no-decision. Matt Minnick faced six batters and recorded five strikeouts in two innings of relief.
