DES MOINES - Iowa Barnstormers kicker Gabriel Rui was named Indoor Football League's Special Teams Player of the Week in Week 9.
Rui (5'11", 190) earned IFL Special Team Player of the Week honors after an incredible Week 9 performance against the Massachusetts Pirates on the Iowa Barnstormers home turf. In the team's 73-43 victory over the Pirates, Rui was solely responsible for 17 total points. Rui finished the night 9/9 on PATS, 2/3 on field goals, and 2/2 on deuces.
The Indoor Football League awarded QB Daquan Neal of the Vegas Knight Hawks as Offensive Player of the Week and DB Nazir Streater of the Duke City Gladiators as Defensive Player of the Week.
Rui and the Iowa Barnstormers will travel to face the Green Bay Blizzard on Saturday, May 20 at the Resch Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The match is set for 7:05 p.m. Fans can tune in on YouTube.
