Akron RubberDucks News Release
(Reading, Pa.) Reading designated hitter Jake Fox went 3-4, with a pair of RBI Saturday night as the Fightin Phils claimed a 6-3 victory over the Akron RubberDucks at FirstEnergy Stadium.
The RubberDucks (58-50) lost for the ninth time in the last 10 games, but remained stationary in second place in the EL West standings as both Richmond (1st ) and Bowie (3rd ) lost.
An early 1-0 lead courtesy of Bryan LaHair's RBI triple in the third inning quickly evaporated when Phils newcomer K.C.
Serna belted a solo homer off Joe Colon (8-6) in the bottom of the third inning to tie the score, 1-1. Fox drilled an RBI single in the fourth inning to make it 2-1, and then Reading blew it open with four more in the fifth to take a 6-1 lead.
During the four-run rally, the Fightins collected four doubles, including a two-run double by Kelly Dugan and a RBI double by Fox.

Colon, Akron's pitching ace, saw his winless streak reach five starts, including losses in his last two. He hasn't won since June 29th . He lasted six innings and gave up six runs on nine hits.
Tim Fedroff stroked a two-run double in the seventh to make it 6-3. The RubberDucks brought the tying run to the plate in the eighth, but righthander Neifi Ogando got Ronny Rodriguez to ground out to end the inning. Lefty Hoby Milner (6-5) started and won for the Phils, and Colton Murray earned his first save with a scoreless ninth.
The RubberDucks and Fightins (44-60) will play the fourth and final game of the series on Sunday afternoon at 1:35. RHP Will Roberts (10-10, 3.98) is scheduled to start for Akron, while the Fightins have tabbed RHP Chris Bootcheck (1-2, 7.07).
