
Royals Wrap-Up Regular Season with Awards Ceremony

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Royals 2015-16 regular season was acknowledged at the club's fifth annual Awards Ceremony on Sunday afternoon at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.
This year's event included former Vancouver Canucks President and General Manager Mike Gillis as a special guest speaker.
Cliff Lequesne, from 100.3 The Q!, hosted the event that saw the organization hand out 10 awards in total and celebrate the personal achievements of the Royals' players on-and-off of the ice.
Joe Hicketts was chosen as the team's most valuable player for the second straight year as he took home the National Bank Financial MVP Award. The product of Kamloops, BC also earned the Wilson's Transportation Top Defenceman award.
Alex Forsberg was presented with the Mayfair Optometric Top Scorer Award as he finished the season with a Royals' record 91 points (31g-60a).
Logan Fisher was the recipient of the 2 Burley Men Hardest Worker award, while Ryan Gagnon was chosen as the Pepsi Unsung Hero award winner.
Coleman Vollrath was named the winner of the Investors Group Community Service award for the third consecutive year. Vollrath was also recognized with The Wallace Driving School Most Dedicated Player award.
Matthew Phillips finished the regular season as the top scorer among WHL rookies and was named the winner of the Ron Neal Rookie of the Year. Phillips was also presented with The Keg Fans' Choice award, which was chosen by a vote on www.victoriaroyals.com.
Scott Walford took home the Live Virtual Help Desk Scholastic Player of the Year award.
The Royals will begin the 2016 WHL Playoffs on Friday, March 25th and Saturday, March 26th with Games 1 and 2 at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre vs. a team yet to be determined.
