Victoria, BC - Victoria Royals' forward Tanner Sidaway, who played against his former team for the first time, scored the game winner late in the third period as the club edged the Regina Pats 2-1 on Saturday night.

Notes:

Strong Finish: With tonight's Victory, the Victoria Royals move to 3-0-0-0 this season in the final game of a homestand. Since relocating from Chilliwack, the club is 58-19-5-3 before leaving on a road trip. In those 85 games, the royals have tallied 334 goals for an average of 3.93 per contest.

Former Pat: Tonight, Royals' forward, Tanner Sidaway, scored the game-winning goal against his former team. Sidaway played in 58 regular season contests for the Pats, last season, and recorded three assists. He was acquired by the Royals this past off-season for a conditional pick in the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft.

Outstanding Oliver: After he scored in tonight's contest, Royals' forward Kaid Oliver continued his breakout campaign. In 16 games this season, Oliver is leading the Victoria Royals in scoring with 20 points (13g-7a), goals (13), powerplay goals (5) and shorthanded tallies (2).

Familiar Face: Tonight, Regina goaltender Dean McNabb made his return to Victoria since he was acquired by the Pats in September of this season. The Davidson, SK product was drafted by the Royals in the third round, 61st overall, in the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft. McNabb played in 29 games for Victoria over the course of two seasons.

Streaking: With his goal tonight, Regina forward Jake Leschyshyn extended his point streak to 10 consecutive games. During this span, Leschyshyn has recorded 18 points (10g-8a). The Vegas Golden Knights' prospect has collected 29 points (15g-14a) in 21 games for the Regina Pats this season.

Coming Up: Tomorrow afternoon, the Victoria Royals will kick off a three-game road trip with a contest against the BC Division leading Vancouver Giants. Puck drop is at 4:00 p.m.
