
Royals' Tyler Soy Named WHL Player of the Week

Victoria, BC - The Western Hockey League (WHL) today announced that Victoria Royals' forward Tyler Soy has been named the WHL Player of the week.
Soy, a product of Cloverdale, BC recorded nine points (5g-4a) in the Royals' final three games of the regular season.
The 5-11, 172 lb forward becomes the sixth player (Alex Forsberg - 2015-16, Brandon Magee - 2014-15, Travis Brown - 2014-15, Joe Hicketts - 2014-15 and Alex Gogolev - 2012-2013) in Victoria Royals' team history to receive the WHL Player of the Week award.
The 1997-born centre is in his third full season with the club. In 72 games with Victoria, Soy finished second in team scoring with 85 points (46g-39a). Soy led the team in goals with 46 and broke the Royals' record for most markers in a single season.
In 213 career regular season games with Victoria (2013-2016), Soy has recorded 90 goals and 90 assists.
The Royals will have home ice advantage and will play the Spokane Chiefs in the first round of the 2016 WHL Playoffs with Games 1 & 2 on Friday, March 25th and Saturday, March 26th.
