Red Deer, AB - Victoria celebrated a pair of milestones on Wednesday, with defenceman Kalem Parker making his 100th career appearance and top-prospect Cole Reschny making his WHL debut in the contest.

Parker would count two points in the game, both assists, while Reschny logged one shot while playing a heavy dose of ice time in his first major junior appearance.

Forward Kai Uchaz scored twice as the Red Deer Rebels defeated the Victoria Royals 6-2 on Wednesday night at the Peavey Mart Centrium in Red Deer, AB.

Rebels defenceman Cristopher Sedoff, forwards Jace Isley, Jace Weir and Craig Armstrong all collected multipoint nights along with Uchaz on the way to achieving their 11th straight victory to start the season.

Forward Teague Patton and Reggie Newman would score the two goals for Victoria in the loss, while starting goaltender Tyler Palmer made 21 saves on 27 shots.

Red Deer (11-0-0-0) would strike first on Wednesday, with forward Kai Uchaz scoring his eighth goal of the season at the 11:17 mark of the first to give the home side an early 1-0 advantage.

That lead would grow to 2-0 later in the period as forward Carson Birnie (1) beat Royals netminder Tyler Palmer short-side on a two-on-one opportunity at the 14:49 mark.

However, Victoria (2-9-2-0) would regain some momentum late in the frame on a powerplay goal by forward Teague Patton (4) at 18:49 to cut the deficit to 2-1 as the game entered the second period. Kalem Parker and forward Tanner Scott would collect assists on the goal.

Red Deer responded with two more goals of their own in the middle frame to take a 4-1 lead into the third. The first came off the stick of Uchaz (9), collecting his second of the night at the 10:10 mark, which would be followed up by a goal by Matteo Fabrizi (3) at 13:23 to increase the Rebels lead to three going into the third.

The Rebels would continue to up the pressure in the final frame, with forward Dwayne Jean Jr. (3) scoring at 5:17 to put his team up by four.

That would be followed by a goal off the stick of Red Deer's Jace Isley (6) to bring the score to 6-1 at the 9:48 mark.

The Royals would add one more late in the frame, with forward Reggie Newman tipping in a point shot by Kalem Parker to bring the score to 6-2 at 18:19, where it would stand at the final buzzer.

Forward Anthony Wilson would count the secondary assist on the goal.

Red Deer goaltender Rhett Stoesser stopped 13 of 15 shots faced in the win.

Red Deer will remain at home for their next game, playing host to the Vancouver Giants at the Peavey Mart Centruim for a game scheduled for 6 pm PT this Friday night.

Meanwhile, Victoria will travel east to face off against the Swift Current Broncos for their next stop on their six-game road trip. Puck-drop for that contest is set for 6 pm PT on Friday, Oct. 28 at the InnovationPlex in Swift Current, SK.
