Medicine Hat Tigers News Release
The Medicine Hat Tigers are saddened to learn of the passing of Anthony Lanz. Lanz was a long-time off-ice official for the Medicine Hat Tigers, along with his three brothers. The four Lanz brothers began their minor official duties with the Tigers during the Club's inaugural season in 1970-71 and had been serving as part of the off-ice officials crew for over 40 years. They were the recipients of the WHL Distinguished Service Award for the 2012-13 season. The WHL Distinguished Service Award, which the WHL introduced during the 2004-05 season, is presented annually to an individual associated with the WHL who has made an extraordinary contribution over an extended period of time at the Club or League level.
The entire Medicine Hat Tigers Organization would like to pass on our deepest condolences to Anthony's wife Rose and the entire Lanz family.
