
Royals host Zephyrs, RedHawks beginning Friday

OMAHA â The Omaha Royals return to Rosenblatt Stadium for an eight-game home stand against the New Orleans Zephyrs and Oklahoma RedHawks beginning this Friday, May 28. So far this season, attendance at Royals games is up almost 10,000 fans compared to 2003 (83,091 fans in 22 dates this year, compared to 73,956 fans over the first 22 dates last season). Besides the baseball action, here's a rundown of the promotions on tap:
Friday, May 28 â Royals vs. New Orleans at 7:05 p.m.: Enjoy post-game fireworks, presented by No Frills Supermarkets...and the American Diabetes Association Kiss-A-Pig finale....Plus, fans are invited to bring non-perishable food items, bottled water and money to aid in the Hallam tornado relief efforts May 28-31.
Saturday, May 29 â 6:05 p.m.: Game 2 of the New Orleans series...the 1st 1,500 fans receive Omaha Royals batting helmets, courtesy of Dodge.
Sunday, May 30 â 1:35 p.m.: Game 3 vs. the Z's is Family Fun Day, with clowns and face painting before the game and kids run the bases afterwards, presented by Candlewood Suites...also free ice cream for fans as they leave, courtesy of Wells Blue Bunny.
Monday, May 31 â 6:05 p.m.: The New Orleans series finale, followed by post-game fireworks, to celebrate Memorial Day 2004.
Tuesday, June 1 â Royals vs. Oklahoma at 7:05 p.m.: It's a kick-off celebration for the Omaha Public Library's Summer Reading Club, sponsored by The College Savings Plan of Nebraska...plus it's another Baker's $22 Tuesday.
Wednesday, June 2 â 12:05 p.m.: Game 2 vs. Oklahoma is a Lunch-time special presented by Waitt Radio and KPTM Fox 42, with ½ price hamburgers, courtesy of Omaha Steaks.
Thursday, June 3 â 7:05 p.m.: It's Thirsty? Thursday, with ½ price drinks, courtesy of Journal Broadcast Group, Miller Lite and Lamar Outdoor...1st 1,000 fans get a free Thirsty ? Thursday T-shirt.
Friday, June 4 â 7:05 p.m.: Following the Oklahoma series and home stand finale, enjoy fireworks, presented by the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA).
