Royals Gear up for Double Header against Rockets

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Royals (0-1-0) take on the Kelowna Rockets (0-0-0) this weekend in back-to-back games at the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre.
The two teams first meet Friday at 7:05 p.m. for the Royals "Not-so-Spring Fling" which promises to be a night of collegiate fun and Royals pride. Then on Saturday, the team celebrates Octoberfest with their very own version of "Hocktoberfest" featuring a $10 royal dog, pretzel and sauerkraut concession offer and special performances from Victoria's Edelweiss Club.
The Royals have made a financial donation to help support the Victoria Edelweiss Club in their efforts to foster and preserve German language, heritage and traditions by encouraging cultural and social activities between Germans and Canadians in the local Victoria area. The Club will be in attendance Saturday night to provide Royals fans with the ultimate German experience.
Friday will be the first time the Rockets are in Victoria for the regular season and the first time since February 22, 2020. The two teams faced off during the preseason in Kelowna with the Rockets taking both games over the Royals.
"The last regular season game we played in 2020 before the season was shut down was in Kelowna against the Rockets. We then played all of our Hub games against the Rockets on their ice, so safe to say our guys are really looking forward to facing them on home ice in front of our great fans this weekend," said Assistant GM and Associate Coach JF Best.
After the weekend battle with the Rockets, the Royals next two-game series takes place on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre against the Kamloops Blazers.
