Reading Royals News Release
Reading, PA - The Reading Royals, proud ECHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers and Lehigh Valley Phantoms, announced Wednesday the team has completed four future considerations trades. In one of the deals, Reading acquired forward Brayden Low from Wichita, finalizing a deal from Jan. 2 in which the Royals traded F Colin Martin to the Thunder for future considerations.
Low skated for Wichita and Quad City last season and combined for 18 goals and 42 points in 69 games. He scored one goal and three points with the Thunder in the final 11 games of the regular season. In four postseason contests, the 24-year-old recorded a goal and two points.
In 111 career ECHL games, the native of Richmond, BC has scored 21 goals and 49 points. Low stands 6-foot-1 and weighs 201 pounds.
To complete the three other future considerations deals, Reading also announced the following moves.
Reading traded D Chase Golightly to Brampton to conclude its trade from Dec. 13, 2017 in which the Royals acquired F Colin Martin from the Beast. Golightly skated in 62 regular season games in two seasons with Reading (1g, 13 pts.).
The Royals dealt F Mark Bennett to Orlando, finalizing a deal from Dec. 28, 2017 that had the AHL contract of D Matias Cleland reassigned to Reading. Cleland played the final 42 regular season games with the Royals, creating one goal, 14 points and a plus-14 rating. Bennett scored four goals and 14 points in 27 games with Reading.
Reading sent F Ryan Penny to Kalamazoo, which completes a trade from Mar. 8 with the Wings that moved D Charlie Vasaturo to Reading. Vasaturo, a native of Sewell, NJ, competed in four Kelly Cup Playoff games and eight regular season contests with the Royals. Penny skated for Reading from 2015-17 and registered 41 goals and 83 points in 125 regular season games.
