Burlington, N.C. - The Royals unleashed their offense on Wednesday night, stringing together 13 hits in a 9-4 win against the Bluefield Blue Jays.

With no outs in the top of the third inning, Bluefield took an early 2-0 edge on a DJ Daniels two-run homer. The Blue Jays followed that up with another run in the fourth courtesy of a Davis Schneider RBI single.

However, in the bottom of the fourth, Burlington's offense arrived with force. With one out in the inning, David Hollie launched a three-run homer to left-center field that knotted the score at three. Three batters later, Maikel Garcia roped a double into center, plating Kevon Jackson and putting the Royals ahead 4-3. That wasn't it for the fourth either. Three more runs came in on a Vinnie Pasquantino RBI single and a Logan Porter two-run double to give Burlington a 7-3 cushion.

Royals reliever Noah Murdock held the Blue Jays mostly silent once he entered in the fourth. The former Virginia Cavalier tossed 4.1 innings in which he allowed just one run on four hits while striking out five.

Burlington pushed the lead to 9-3 in the bottom of the seventh after Pasquantino crushed his sixth home run of the season to right-center and Hollie hit an RBI double.

Bluefield scored its final run in the top of the ninth on a Ryan Sloniger RBI triple with the Blue Jays down to their final out.

Murdock earned his first professional win for Burlington, while Bluefield starter Lazaro Estrada took the loss after surrendering seven runs and eight hits in just 3.2 innings.

The Royals and Blue Jays square off again tomorrow for game two of a three-game series. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
