Royals Announce 4 Roster Moves

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals, proud ECHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers and Lehigh Valley Phantoms, announced four roster moves Monday.

1) G Austin Lotz has returned to Reading after being released from a professional tryout contract (PTO) with Lehigh Valley.

2) The Royals have signed G Tanner Creel.

3) F Alex Krushelnyski has been recalled from loan by Lehigh Valley.

4) G Nick Niedert has been released from his ECHL contract.

Lotz signed a PTO with Lehigh Valley Nov. 23. With the Royals, the 23-year-old is 0-1-1-0 in two games, allowing nine goals. Last season, Lotz led Jacksonville with 19 wins.

Creel comes to Reading from Roanoke (SPHL), where he has accumulated a 3-5-0-0 mark, 3.13 goals against average and .907 save percentage in eight games. He stands 5-foot-10, weighs 176 pounds and graduated from UConn in 2018. In 21 career games for the Huskies, Creel went 8-5-2 (3.05 GAA, .900 save percentage).

Krushelnyski is third on the Royals with 15 points (5g) in 17 games. Last season, his first with the Flyers organization, he tallied nine points (3g) in 36 games with Lehigh Valley. In the 2018 Calder Cup Playoffs, Krushelnyski scored two goals and four points in ten games as the Phantoms marched to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Niedert made 38 saves and allowed one goal for the Royals Saturday in a 2-1 win over Adirondack, his first ECHL game since the 2015-16 season.
