
Rox slide to Aces, 4-0

BROCKTON â The Rox dropped their third straight game to the Aces, getting shut out Sunday, 4-0, at Campanelli Stadium in front of 3,938.
Derek Andersen, who pitched his first complete game of the season, took the loss for the Rox, despite allowing just one earned run and no walks, while striking out three.
The Aces got a run in the third when Coby Smith scored on Eddie Gerald's single.
In the seventh, Andersen got the first two batters on called third strikes, before a Saul Bustos throwing error allowed Jason Torres to reach. After Dalphie Correa singled, J.P. Schmidt doubled, scoring Torres. Coby Smith singled to right, scoring Correa and Schmidt, to complete the scoring, 4-0.
The Rox had four hits in the game, a Chad Stewart leadoff double, Kris Zacuto's fourth-inning single, Brian Jones's eighth-inning single, and Mike Torres's ninth-inning single.
The Rox and Aces play again Monday at 7:11 p.m. at Campanelli Stadium in the Rox last home game of the regular season. Monday is Fan Appreciation Day. Tickets are available at the Rox box office, by phone at (508) 559-7070, or by visiting www.brocktonrox.com.
