North Shore rebounded from Saturday's 18-3 shellacking with a six-hit shutout of Quebec. Bryan Morse pitched a complete game for his 10th win of the season, striking out six, and putting the Spirit back within two games of the Capitales. Up 1-0, North Shore doubled their lead with DH Travis Oglesby's homer to lead off the fourth, and added four more in the fifth courtesy of a LF Joseph Hastings three-run blast and Oglesby's second solo shot of the afternoon.

NEW HAVEN COUNTY 9, ELMIRA 0

One night after being embarrassed 12-0 by Elmira, New Haven County returned the favor with a 9-0 bombing of the Pioneers. Even with the nine-run outburst, the Cutters still managed to break the league record for runners left on base in a game with eighteen, courtesy of eighteen New Haven hits and eleven walks from Elmira pitching. The Cutters were led by 3B Jeff Brooks' 4-for-5, two-RBI day that included a double and a two-run homer in the sixth, while starter Tim Keinath got his first win this season as a starter, going the distance and limiting the Pioneers to only four hits.

ACES 4, BROCKTON 0

Coby Smith went 2-for-4 with two RBI as the Aces extended their winning streak to three with a 4-0 defeat of Brockton. Smith also scored the Aces' first run when Eddie Gerald singled him home from second. The Aces added three more runs in the seventh, two on Smith's base hit to right field for a 4-0 lead. Alex Pena improved to 4-9 after tossing seven innings of two-hit ball, while striking out four. The win means that the Aces have captured the season series from the Rox.

BANGOR 22, NEW JERSEY 2

HR: BAN - Derry Hammond 2 (22,23)

Derry Hammond broke the league record for RBI in a game with nine as the Lumberjacks pounded New Jersey 22-2. Hammond, who went 4-for-6 with four runs scored, had a two-run single in the fifth, grand slam in the seventh and three-run homer in the eighth to account for all nine runs he drove in. Bangor's Jose Garcia went 5-for-7 with four runs scored and was one of eight starters to drive in at least one run. Jerry Long benefited from all the run support to pick up his seventh win while allowing two runs on five hits in 5 2/3 innings. With the win, Bangor moved into a tie with Quebec for the top spot in the North Division.
