Rox released LHP Daniel Schmidt - official as of July 24th, 2011

Schmidt appeared in ten games for the Rox in 2011 out of the bullpen and finished with a 2-0 record and a 6.54 ERA. The Australian southpaw has since been picked up by the Fort Worth Cats of the American Association.

Rox released LF Ryan Royster - official as of July 27th, 2011

Royster was the everyday leftfielder for much of the 2011 season, batting .264 with 13 homers and 38 RBIs. The former Tampa Bay Rays prospect was battling a back injury that limited his playing time in late-July and led to his release. Royster led the Can-Am League in homers through the first half of the season and was among the league leaders in slugging percentage and total bases.

Rox released IF Mathieu Beachesne - official as of July 29th, 2011

Rox signed 3B Steve Vranau - official as of July 30th, 2011

Vranau joins the Brockton Rox after spending the beginning of the 2011 season with Las Cruces of the Pecos League. With the Vaqueros he hit .331 with three homers and 20 RBIs in 39 games. Prior to that, Vranau played at the Master's College in California.

Rox acquired RHP Zach Woods from New York (NYSL) in exchange for cash - official as of July 30th, 2011

Woods was a standout at East Carolina University in 2011 before joining the New York Federals, where he went 0-1 with a 3.18 ERA in four appearances out of the bullpen.

Rox released RHP Robert Bono - official as of August 1st, 2011

Bono went 3-1 with a 5.29 ERA in 12 games with the Rox, including nine starts. Bono missed some time earlier in the season due to a lower back strain.

Rox placed IF Shawn Williams on disabled list (strained right hamstring) - retroactive to July 26, 2011

The Brockton Rox roster now stands at 21 active (11 pitchers, 10 position players, 1 Disabled)
