Rox look to secure playoff berth during upcoming homestand

BROCKTON - The Brockton Rox look to clinch a playoff spot and celebrate in front of their home town fans at Campanelli Stadium this week as the regular season comes to a close. The homestand opens up with a three game series against the Worcester Tornadoes and finishes with a four game matchup with the New Jersey Jackals.

Tuesday, August 29th: The Rox will play the last MA State Lottery Commonwealth Cup series against the Worcester Tornadoes starting this evening. Brockton RHP John Kelly (10-2, 2.76 ERA) will take the mound against Tornadoes' starter RHP Junior Guerrero (8-4, 2.07 ERA) in this first game of the series. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05PM.

Wednesday, August 30th: Don't forget your bingo marker when you come to the game as it is the last night of Baseball Bingo presented by Carousel Family Fun Centers. The Rox will start LHP Rolando Viera (8-6, 2.67 ERA) against Worcester's RHP Matt Weagle (2-2, 2.66 ERA). First pitch is scheduled for 7:05PM.

Thursday, August 31st: It's Commonwealth Cup Night at Campanelli presented by the Massachusetts State Lottery. This game marks the last Commonwealth Cup matchup for the Rox, who are currently placed 2nd in the Cup standings. Rox RHP Wayne Lundgren (2-5, 3.28 ERA) will get the start against Worcester's RHP Reid Willett (4-4 6.05 ERA). Don't forget that it's Thursday, which means it's the last Thirsty Thursday at Campanelli presented by Narragansett Beer. Be sure to stop by the beer garden in right field to enjoy a 16oz Narragansett for only $2.00!

Tickets are still available for this series as well as the weekend matchups against New Jersey. During the series with the Jackals, fans can expect to celebrate Rocky Marciano's birthday, be a parrot head for a night, have some FUN on Family Funday, and maybe find a golden ticket for fan appreciation day.
