A solid outing by New Haven County starting pitcher Rolando Valles leads the Cutters to a game one victory over the Pride. Valles went five innings giving up only one earned run on six hits with five strikeouts. The win by the southpaw improved his record to 8-5 on the season. Cutters' LF Horace Lawrence had a good game at the plate going 3-for-4 with a run scored. DH Derrick Gibson and 3B Jeremy Terni also chipped in with 1-for-4 efforts with each driving in two runs and hitting a home run. For the Pride, Can-Am League Batter of the Week Sean Dobson had a 1-for-4 outing with a run scored.

New Haven County sweeps the doubleheader from Nashua behind another terrific pitching performance, this time from Courtney Hall. Hall improved his record to 4-4 by going 5 1/3 innings allowing only one run, which was unearned, on one hit with four strikeouts. Cutters' closer Andy Weimer pitched a perfect seventh inning to notch his 18th save of the season, which is second in the league. LF Horace Lawrence had another good outing at the plate for the Cutters as he went 2-for-3, with a run scored, two runs driven in, and his fifth home run of the season.

North Shore 4, Worcester 1

North Shore starting pitcher Sam Smith pitches a terrific game in his first outing as a Spirit and helps them to a series sweep of the Tornadoes and their ninth straight victory. Smith had a six inning outing allowing an earned run on seven hits with two walks. Kevin Fitzgerald recorded his 23rd save of the season, which is still the best in the league. Spirit 1B Vic Davilla went 2-for-3 with a run scored and a double while SS Chris Rowan had a 1-for-4 performance with a run scored and two runs driven in. The win by North Shore pushes their lead to 3.5 games over Quebec.
