ST CLOUD- The St. Cloud Rox fell to the Willmar Stingers 9-6 Monday night at Joe Faber Field in St. Cloud. The Rox loss was their ninth straight and drops their record to 9-16, while the Stingers improve to 11-9 with their third straight win.

The Rox struck first in the bottom of the first on one of six Stinger errors on the night.

Carlos Lopez (Cal St-Fullerton) grounded into a fielder's choice to Willmar shortstop Hunter Dozier (Stephen F. Austin), but Dozier's throw eluded first baseman Corben Green (Louisiana Monroe) and allowed Mark Rhine (Wake Forest) to scamper home with the Rox first run.

The Stingers fought right back in the top of the second with a trio of runs to take a 3- 1 lead. JD Dorgen (St. Thomas) had the big blast in the inning for Willmar with a 2-RBI triple off of Rox starter Alex Roberts (Newberry). Dorgen would score the third run of the inning on an RBI groundout by Matt Jackson (Washington).

The Rox tugged back the rope in the bottom of the second with a pair of runs to tie the game. Andy Henkemeyer (Minnesota) scored on an error by Stinger first baseman Green, and Erik Kozel (Colorado Mesa) scored Rhine with a single to the game.

Willmar once again answered the bell in the top of the third inning with another two runs to re-take the lead. Stingers center fielder Steven Brault (Regis) on a Jackson ground out. The next batter, Forrest Allday (Central Arkansas) singled home Zach Benson (Stephen F. Austin) to make the score 5-3 after two and a half innings.

St Cloud had one more rally up their sleeves with a two run bottom of the fifth inning.

Again, errors came back to haunt the Stingers when Chris Paul (California) scored on a ball third baseman Benson couldn't handle, resulting in the Rox fourth run. An Adam Martin (Western Carolina) groundout scored Boo Vazquez (Pitt) to tie the game after five.

Willmar scored in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings to seal the victory. Roberts took the loss on the hill for the Rox after allowing five runs on eight hits with five walks and two strikeouts. Six Stingers had multi-hit games.

The Rox are back tomorrow night looking for revenge on the Willmar Stingers. The game begins at 7:05 pm and it's Jimmy Buffett night at Joe Faber Field. There will be live music all night long and the players will be wearing special tropical jerseys. Tickets are available at www.stcloudrox.com.
