MANKATO-The St Cloud Rox broke out the bats Sunday night in a 14-8 drubbing of the Mankato MoonDogs at Franklin Rogers Park. Five Rox had multi-hit games and two Rox players hit their first home runs of the season.

Tony Skjefte (Minnesota) was 3-6 with two runs scored and three RBI. The utility player also clubbed his first home run of the season in the top of the fourth inning. Chris Paul (California) went 2-4 with a run scored, a stolen base and a pair of RBI.

Adam Martin (Western Carolina), Nick Rau (Georgia Southern) and Nick Tanielu (Washington St) also had a pair of hits in the victory for St. Cloud.

Rox starting pitcher Billy Soule (Minnesota) lasted into the seventh inning and received the victory to improve his record to 1-3 on the season. The righty scattered seven hits while allowing three earned runs.

Phil Imholte (St Cloud State) had a home run in the game for the Rox, his first of the summer. The outfielder added three RBI as well to give him 30 this season.

The game was tied 2-2 heading into the top of the fourth inning when the Rox hung a crooked number on the Frankin Rogers Park scoreboard with four runs to make the score 6-2. Although the MoonDogs would score two in the bottom of the fourth to cut the Rox lead to just two, that was as close as they would get the for the rest of the night.

St. Cloud put up two runs in the top of the sixth to run the score to 8-4 then scored three more in the seventh to break the game open at 11-4. Imholte's two- run shot in the top of the ninth capped the scoring.

The Rox are home for a game Monday, which is Rox Logo Baseball Giveaway night presented by Franklin Outdoor Advertising. The first 250 fans 12/ under through the gates will receive a baseball. Tickets can be purchased at www.StCloudRox.com . On Saturday July 21st the Rox will give away a limted number of scoops at the gate to give women a chance to dig on the field for a $2,000 diamond, presented by Riddle's Jewelry.
