Battle Creek Battle Jacks News Release

BATTLE CREEK, MI - The Bombers scored 6 runs in the bottom half of the 8th inning en route to their 7-2 comeback victory against the Green Bay Bullfrogs.

Joe Battistelli (Eastern Michigan) started on the mound for the Bombers. After the long rain delay before the 3rd inning began, Joe came back out and continued to throw effectively. He came out of the game after giving up his only run, an RBI single by Ransom LaLonde in the top of the 5th inning.

Chad Jasman relieved Batistelli, and got out of that 5th inning unharmed. In the next frame, Chad struggled with his control. He walked three hitters and hit Billy Moon to bring home the 2nd run of the night for the Bullfrogs. Battle Creek got in the run column in the bottom of the 6th inning with a solo blast from Daniel Rockett. That was the only blemish the offense could give Bullfrog pitcher Zak Hermans.

David Armendariz came to the mound to begin the 8th inning, and Battle Creek immediately took advantage. Daniel Rockett got an RBI triple to tie the game at 2, but the scoring was far from done. Armendariz struggled with his control, and walked three consecutive hitters to give the Bombers a 3-2 lead. Mac Acker replaced Armendariz, but walked Casey Yocum to bring another run home. AJ Spanel and Colin Willis then followed with singles to give Battle Creek a 7-2 lead.

Kyle Teague threw the final three innings in relief to earn the win. The Bombers now look for the sweep Sunday night against the Bullfrogs. First pitch is at 5:05 ET.
