TRENTON, N.J. - Veteran winger Randy Rowe was named captain of the 2011-12 Trenton Titans. The announcement was made by head coach Vince Williams at Wednesday's Media Day at Trenton Social.

Rowe, 31, a veteran of 10 ECHL seasons, will provide veteran leadership for Williams' club.

"It's an honor,'' said Rowe of the Titans captainship. "It's something I take seriously. It's a blessing. Not many get to play pro sports for 11 years.''

In addition to Rowe, defenseman Andy Thomas and winger Dustin Cameron were named Assistant Captains, while goalie Dave Caruso and defenseman Mitch Versteeg were named Alternate Captains.

"All these players have been through it, and they will provide leadership in our locker room,'' said Williams. "I'm glad to have all of them.''

The Titans return to the ECHL Friday night, opening the 2011-12 season with a two-game series in Elmira with the Jackals. The team's home-opener on Sun National Bank Center ice, part of a planned gala opening weekend, is set for 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22 vs. the Florida Everblades. The Cincinnati Cyclones then visit Trenton at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23.

With the start of the season, the Titans are introducing a 4-for-$48 ticket package, featuring four tickets, four hot dogs, four sodas and four lower-level seats, location subject to availability. These packages are available by calling the Titans offices at 609-341-1100.
