"Rowdy-ween Spook-Tackular" Set For Friday

ALBANY, NY - The Albany River Rats announced today the promotional activities scheduled for the club's "Rowdy-ween Spooktacular" to be held during their 7:00 p.m. game against the Hershey Bears on Friday October 31, 2008.

The River Rats will offer a half price children's ticket to all children 12 and under that attend the game in a Halloween costume. The offer is applicable to tickets purchased on Game Day at the Times Union Center Box Office. The ticket discount will be accompanied by costume contests for the children's group and for adults that attend Friday's game. Prizes will be awarded for the "best" costume in both child and adult categories as judged by fans in attendance. The winning child will receive a Zamboni ride, while the adult grand prize will be dinner at Angelo's 677 Prime on Broadway in Downtown Albany.

Other activities will include a Halloween-themed Kids Zone with bobbing for apples, a witch's cauldron and other scary games. Even the intermission games will have a Halloween feel with the on-ice Mummy Wrap contest, pumpkin bowling and the Witch Hat Ring Toss.

The team is also asking fans to align themselves with one of the candidates in the First River Rats Mascot Election. Constituents can view the hockey platforms online at www.albanyriverrats.com in the days leading up to the official vote on Friday, November 7, 2008. Albany returns to action on Friday, October 31st when they welcome their former captain Keith Aucoin and the Hershey Bears to the Times Union Center for a 7:00 pm Halloween night face off.
