
Falcons Set To Battle Devils In Home-And-Home Series

THIS WEEK'S GAME PREVIEWS --FRIDAY, OCTOBER 31, 2008- SPRINGFIELD FALCONS VS LOWELL DEVILS--
The Springfield Falcons will host the Lowell Devils for the second straight game on Friday night. The game will mark the second of three consecutive games between these two Atlantic Division rivals. Lowell took the last decision between the two clubs on October 25 by a score of 4-2. The Devils are led in scoring by Center Matt Halischuk with five goals and three assists for eight points. Halischuk also leads all AHL rookies in scoring. Forwards Nicklas Bergfors and Jon DiSalvatore are tied for second in scoring with seven points each. Goalie Scott Clemmensen continues to carry the load for the Devils playing all but 20 minutes of the Devils' season. Clemmensen has earned a 3.49 GAA and a .890 save percentage gong 3-2-0-1.
--SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 1, 2008- SPRINGFIELD FALCONS AT LOWELL DEVILS--
The Falcons will make their first of five visits to Lowell this season on Saturday night as the road part of a home and home series with the Devils. After Saturday's game, the Falcons and Devils will not play again until Sunday, November 23 at Lowell.

---SPRINGFIELD vs ALBANY, OCTOBER 24-W 3-2---
The Springfield Falcons used a pair of goals from Ryan Potulny and one power play marker from Liam Reddox to beat the Albany River Rats by a score of 3-2. Rob Schremp added two assists and goaltender Devan Dubnyk stopped 25 of 27 shots.
---SPRINGFIELD vs LOWELL, OCOBER 25- L 4-2---
Geoff Paukovich scored his first AHL goal, while Liam Reddox scored for the second straight contest in a 4-2 Falcons' loss against the Lowell Devils at the MassMutual Center.
PLAYER NOTES:
Liam Reddox scored in each of the Falcons' two games this weekend giving him two goals and three assists for five points in seven games this year. Reddox is currently on a three-game scoring streak. Reddox led all Falcons rookies in scoring last year with 16 goals and 28 assists for 44 points in 65 games. He also made his NHL debut on December 7, 2007 as a member of the Edmonton Oilers against the St. Louis Blues.
Left wing Stephane Goulet collected his first multi-point game of the season on October 25 when he collected two assists. Goulet has one goal and two assists in his last three games played.
Ryan Potulny recorded his second two-goal game of the season when scored a pair of goals in the Falcons' 3-2 win on Friday over Albany. Potulny leads the Falcons in goals with five markers in seven games on the young season.
Geoff Paukovich netted his first AHL goal on October 25 against the Lowell Devils earning the game's third star.
Rob Schremp collected a pair of assists in the Falcons' 3-2 win on October 24 earning the game's second star. Schremp has collected at least a point in four of the five games he has played in this season.
Goaltender Devan Dubnyk has started all seven of Springfield's games this season as he stopped 25 of 27 shots in the Falcons' 3-2 win over Albany on October 24.
Congratulations to Derek Bekar, whose wife Shanna gave birth to their son Drake at 12:28 am on October 25, 7 ½ pounds.
The Falcons penalty killing unit has successfully defended 16 of their last 17 shorthanded situations for a success rate of 94% in that span.
INJURY REPORT
Falcons forward Gilbert Brule, defenseman Mathieu Roy, defenseman Mike Gabinet missed games due to injury.

ON THE FARM - STOCKTON THUNDER
The Stockton Thunder play back-to-back road games this weekend when they head to Las Vegas on Friday and Bakersfield on Saturday. Cory Urquhart leads the Thunder in scoring with three goals and six assists for nine points in five games. Bryan Lerg collected two goals and three assists in four games before returning to Springfield this week.
