Cedar Rapids, Iowa- The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders will welcome Jim Craig, the goaltender for the 1980 gold medal winning U.S. Olympic hockey team, when the RoughRiders meet the Waterloo Black Hawks this Wednesday night at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena. The game begins at 7:05.

Craig will sign autographs for fans on the arena concourse beginning at 6:30. Miracle, the movie depicting the story of the 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey team, is currently playing in theaters nationwide.

"We're very excited about welcoming Jim Craig to Cedar Rapids," said RoughRiders vice-president Tim Kauppi. "I think everyone who is old enough to remember it can tell you exactly where they were when the U.S. beat the Soviets in 1980, so we as an organization are proud to have one of the key players from that team here on Wednesday night."

Craig's appearance kicks off the RoughRiders' "Old School Hockey Week". Friday night the Hanson Brothers will hit the ice arena as the RoughRiders meet the Green Bay Gamblers at 7:05. The Hansons, who gained fame for their antics in the classic 1977 hockey film Slap Shot and the 2002 sequel Slap Shot 2, will entertain fans during the first intermission and will also sign autographs free of charge throughout the game.

When the Sioux Falls Stampede visits the ice arena on Saturday night, the RoughRiders will pay tribute to the best in 1980's hockey hair with Mullet Night. Prior to the game, Pizazz Salon & Spa will give free mullet cuts to fans at the arena from 5:30 to 7:00. The winner of the first intermission mullet contest will receive two Delta Connection certificates good for free round trip tickets.

Tickets for the rest of the RoughRiders' regular season home dates- including this week's games- are now on sale at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena ticket office. Tickets can be purchased over the phone at (319) 261-4625 or in person at the ice arena. The ticket office is open from noon to 5:00PM on weekdays and from noon through the end of the second period on game days. Ticket prices range from $8.00 to $17.00 including a 50-cent facility fee.
