RoughRider alum Miskovic named ECAC player of the week

Cedar Rapids, Iowa- Former Cedar Rapids RoughRider defenseman Zach Miskovic, now a junior at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York, has been named ECAC Hockey League Player of the Week. Miskovic, 22, scored one goal and picked up one assist to help St. Lawrence to a 4-2 win over arch-rival Clarkson last Saturday. Miskovic first assisted on the game winning goal and then scored the insurance goal to cap off a victory that enabled the Saints (5-7-3 overall, 2-4-2 conference) two pull within two games of .500.

On the season, Miskovic (2-5-7) leads St. Lawrence defensemen in point scoring. St. Lawrence is tied for seventh place in the 12-team ECAC Hockey League.

Miskovic spent three seasons in Cedar Rapids, capping off his junior career by helping the Riders to the 2005 United States Hockey League Clark Cup title. Over the course of his USHL career Miskovic never missed a regular season game. In addition to holding the club record for most consecutive games played (180), The River Forest, Illinois, native also ranks second in team history in total games- consecutive or otherwise. Miskovic scored 12 goals and totaled 49 points during his junior career.

The RoughRiders (12-5-1, 25 points) are currently in second place in the USHL's East Division. The Riders return to action with a pair of home games this weekend. The Riders will host the Sioux Falls Stampede Friday night and the Waterloo Black Hawks Saturday evening. Both games face off at 7:05PM.

Tickets for all remaining RoughRiders regular season home games- including this weekend's- are now on sale. Tickets are available for purchase in person at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena ticket office, over the phone at (319) 261-4625 or on line at www.roughridershockey.com. The ticket office is open from noon to 5:00PM on weekdays and from noon through the end of the second period on game days. Ticket prices range from $7 to $17 in advance and from $8 to $18 on game days.
