Chicago Steel News Release
Bensenville, IL (December 3rd, 2007) --The Steel were able to pick up 4 points on the road this weekend, taking 2 wins home. Friday night The Steel beat Lincoln 7-5 and Saturday night the Steel took on Sioux Falls and won 4-1.
Friday night's game The Steel found themselves killing a penalty to start the game as they were assessed a penalty in warm-ups, but this would not discourage Chicago as they were able to kill that penalty and were able to get themselves on the board first with a goal from Brian Dowd (Niagara University) only 3:47 into the game; Dowd ended the night with 2 goals and 2 assists. After Lincoln was able to get 2 goals by Steel netminder Nick Pisellini, Corey Chakeen was able to even the score at two, and Andrew Miller gave Chicago the lead going into the locker room.
In the second period, The Steel found themselves in a seesaw battle with The Stars and they ended the period in a 5-5 tie. Andy Miele (Miami-Ohio) and Brian Dowd were able to find the back of the net in the second period. Eric Alexander was able to score twice in the 3rd to help lead the Steel to the 7-5 defeat over Lincoln. For The Full Story Click Here.
