December 3, 2007 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Ohio Junior Blue Jackets News Release

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio Junior Blue Jackets will have its second annual Teddy Bear Toss Saturday, Dec. 8 at Nationwide Arena during the game against the Tri-City Storm. Game time is set for 1 p.m.

When the Junior Blue Jackets score their first goal of the game, fans are encouraged to throw their stuffed animals onto the ice. The Teddy Bears will be donated to the Fraternal Order of Police Foundation, who will in turn give them away to children during their tour of duty. Members of the Fraternal Order of Police Foundation will be in attendance to accept the donation. Fans will receive one free ticket for each stuffed animal brought to Saturday's game.

Ohio's only team in the United States Hockey League, the top-tier junior league in the country, boasts plenty of young talent, including forward Dan Hobbs, a 2007 seventh-round selection of the NHL's New York Rangers, and forward Tim Hall, a member of Team USA who won the bronze medal at the 2007 World Junior A Challenge in November. The club also sports eight players who have committed to play hockey at Division-I schools.

The Junior Blue Jackets, who have earned six of their last eight points entering Wednesday's contest against Indiana, play five home games in the month of December: Dec. 8-9 against Tri-City, 28-29 versus Cedar Rapids and for the second consecutive year, a New Year's Eve match up with the Chicago Steel.

Ohio Junior Blue Jackets individual game tickets for 2007-08 regular season home games are on sale now at Nationwide Arena, The Chiller Ice Rinks, all Ticketmaster Ticket Centers and www.BlueJackets.com.
